Islay has many activities to offer:
- Golf - Machrie links golf course is a classic links course which offers a challenging round with spectacular scenery.
- Horse Riding - Ballivicar Pony Trecking Centre is situated close to Port Ellen and offers trecks of various lenghts.
- Cycling - There are many quiet and beautiful places to cycle on the island and there are 2 mountain bikes in the shed at the cottage which are available for guests to use. Bike hire is also available on the island.
- Colonsay - During the summer months, usually on a Wednesday, there is a ferry, which leaves Port Askaig in the morning, for the lovely island of Colonsay. The ferry returns in the early evening and is a great way to see another Hebridean Isle.
